Anyway…back to this video. This other man, whom I’ll call “Mr. Tai”, is certainly much larger/taller/heavier than Yun. IMHO, Mr. Tai’s “Ting” and “Dong” (“Listening” and “Understanding”) are good, but his Rooting is not well-developed, and thus his “Hua”(“Neutralizing”) needs development. Also…he seems lacking in Yang/strategic thinking, and also lacking in…Testosterone? An alternative interpretation is that Master Yun had informed his friend, Mr. Tai, that I/he/we are/were shooting a video for “Lishi”—History.
(3)The aim of Tai Ji is not to strike first to gain dominance over an opponent, but to wait at the right moment. (Guo Guangchang—Chinese Entrepreneur)
Mr. Tai pushes Master Yun, Yun casually takes a step back, and then loops that step-back into a loop-up, and then a powerful loop-forward. Then…Mr. Tai is pushed back…far back, while Yun seems to be very-very Wu Wei. In this video, including the unedited version, the “right moment” for Yun was EVERY time Mr. Tai pushed him. Again, this was/is NOT Yun’s normal Pushing Hands style, as can be seen in my many YT videos of him doing Pushing Hands. My sense is that he was doing this for—LISHI.
This Tai Ji “right moment” concept is deep in Chinese culture, and gives me cause for concern regarding US-hubris, and its political-military-economic strategies of “dominance” regarding China. Consider the qualitative/strategic/energetic differences between Chess and the Chinese super-subtle game of GO, which is like Pushing Hands, Mercury, Plasma, QI, Dao. Ah…but that’s ANOTHER article.
(4)One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star. (Nietzsche)
Master Yun’s movements as a “dancing star”?
Yes. But…“chaos”?
Yes. Here’s the WIKI on CHAOS:
“Greek χάος means ‘emptiness, vast void, chasm, abyss’…may also mean space, the expanse of air, and the nether abyss, infinite darkness. Pherecydes of Syros (fl. 6th century BC) interprets chaos as water, like something formless which can be differentiated.”
Hmmm… in that case, to me, Yun’s movements are em-body-ing CHAOS, like Obe Wan Kenobe’s sacred FORCE, and like Terence McKenna’s words:
“Chaos is what we’ve lost touch with. This is why it is given a bad name. It is feared by the dominant archetype of our world, which is Ego, which clenches because its existence is defined in terms of control.”

What is Liu He Ba Fa?
Liu He Ba Fa (Water Style) is one of the major internal style martial arts. It originally passed down from generation to generation only to a handful of gifted and chosen students with exemplary courage and moral character. Liu He Ba Fa literally means Six Harmonies and Eight Principles. It utilizes the power of Xingyi as its center, utilizes the stepping patterns of Bagua for its turning and spinning, and utilizes the neutralizing power of Taiji for its variations. Its movements are sometimes high, sometimes low, sometimes fast, sometimes slow. These movements resemble that of floating clouds, and flowing water that is sometimes calm, sometimes surging. Therefore, it is also known as Water Style. The movements of Liu He Ba Fa are constantly fluctuating with clearly defined forward, backward, upward, downward, and lateral motions. Each and every movement is lead by the mind(xinyi),. The mind initiates and the movements follow. It is therefore, also known as Xinyi Liu He Ba Fa. As an internal art, it not only serves as a system of self defence; it also benefits health, strengthens the body, dispels sickness and increases longevity.
